The Utterly Butterly Ukulele Project (TUBUP)

Since first working with SoundStorm in 2010, The Utterly Butterly Ukulele Project (TUBUP) team have constructed over 2000 ukuleles across Bournemouth and Poole. Back by popular demand, the TUBUP team are heading back to Bournemouth and Poole in late November to deliver their unique participatory workshops.

Students from Lilliput First School in Poole and St Marks Primary in Bournemouth will make their own ukuleles from recyclable materials, learn how to play them and take part in a live performance.

The ukuleles are made from an Utterly Butterly spread tub, fishing line strings, a piece of wood with screw eyes for tuning pegs. They sound surprisingly authentic, and are ever so playable!

TUBUP are a partner on the Bournemouth and Poole Music Education Hub.
