Health, Wellbeing & Music
The pandemic has had a profound impact on each and every one of us this year. It is well publicised that the nation’s mental health is central to the thoughts of many. When we started to develop the 20/21 offer, we committed to placing the wellbeing of students at the centre of the Hub offer by looking specifically at how the service might look to support staff and students
With the autumn term now underway, we are aware that some students with additional needs will require extra input to catch up on their studies. We also know that, on occasions, music can be missed by some students requiring some additional ‘interventions’.
In response, we are keen to improve the local understanding of how music and the creative arts can support schools and students to improve attainment in particular those with special educational needs. We will therefore be convening a specific interest group for our community of SENCO’s. In addition, we will also be offering our member schools a series of commissions and interventions that gives focus to the mental health of their students.
