‘Here comes the sun…’
Young Musicians Summer School
26 – 28th July 2021
With the Lockdown road map now signalling the end of restrictions (fingers crossed) by late June, we’re delighted to announce the return of the annual Young Musicians Summer School.
This year we will be collaborating with our neighbour Dorset Music Hub and welcoming students from across the county. The popular three-day school themed ‘Here Comes the Sun’, will take place in a brand new location, Lytchett Minster School, offering orchestral instrumentalists (Grade 1+) the long-awaited opportunity to learn, rehearse and perform together. The sessions will be led by an array of special guests and local professional musicians. Full details of the programme will be published in late June.
To reserve a place (early booking is highly recommended), contact Broadstone Music Series via https://broadstonemusicseries.info/contact-us/
The cost is £100 for three days. Students from BCP facing financial challenges can apply for financial assistance here.
The Poole Society for Young musicians and Broadstone Music Series perform a vital role in the local music education landscape: since 2015, SoundStorm has been supporting their concert series and programme of masterclasses and we are delighted once again to be the lead partner of the annual Summer School, alongside Dorset Music Hub for 2021.
The three-day-long residency offers Junior and Senior students ensemble coaching, musicianship classes and will, like every other year, feature expert coaching from some of the country’s finest musicians in a musically enriching environment, with plenty of fun which will culminate in a final celebration of our return to performance.
