Update 12/02/2021: applications now closed.
In partnership with CHJ Music, we are excited to announce the arrival of Elevate. This virtual ensemble is a wonderful opportunity for school age learners of any orchestral instrument to join together, learn and perform an uplifting piece. A perfect project for lockdown! You’ll be provided with the score for your instrument and grade and have the chance to practice, record it and then be part of a final ensemble performance that will go live.
The process will be led by Claire Jones who has substantial experience teaching music to children and young people. Using the resources available below, ensemble members will produce video performances of their instrumental parts. All video performances will then be sent back to Claire who will create one final video showcasing the collaboration of all the virtual performers as a keepsake of this fun and valuable experience.
Research has shown that, in addition to the obvious positive impact on wellbeing, the numerous educational benefits of music include improving mental alertness, boosting memory and IQ and improving focus and persistence. Practising music can therefore greatly assist in navigating all the new learning experiences we are facing at the moment.
It is FREE to join Elevate and is available to learners within the BCP area from beginners up to Grade 5 level. There are ONLY 120 SPACES available so please apply via the APPLICATION FORM to take part in this engaging, inspirational project. Places will be given on a first come, first served basis and the deadline to apply is 12th February 2021.
There will be a LIVE welcome with the opportunity to connect with fellow ensemble members and ask Claire any questions regarding your video performances on 10th February 2021. A zoom link will be sent out once applications have been received. The Zoom session will be 4:00pm on 10th February 2021.
