Our mission is transform lives through music. We aim to give every young person who wants it the opportunity to participate in exciting musical activities, whilst also reaching out to the wider community.

A  small but perfectly formed team who lead on the coordination of the BCP Music Education Hub and the other programmes of activity as a Development Agency. Approachable, hands-on and customer focused, we take a ‘can-do’ attitude whilst placing the interests of local students at the centre of our service.

SoundStorm have developed a national reputation for exciting, groundbreaking music education projects. These projects are developed through a variety of partnerships; with music and education sector partners as well as through a close association with our sister organisation wave arts education and the Cultural Hub.

SoundStorm was founded in 2002 by Dan Somogyi and Steve Harris, who were both deliberately recruited from non-formal music backgrounds. SoundStorm started as a development arm of Dorset Music Service, but always focused upon the Bournemouth/Poole conurbation because of its funding structure.
