What we do
SoundStorm is the award winning Music Education Development Agency for the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole conurbation, in South West England.
Our mission is transform lives through music. We aim to give every young person who wants it the opportunity to participate in exciting musical activities, whilst also reaching out to the wider community.
Over 500,000 participants and 600,000 audience members have been involved in our work since we started in 2002. Their involvement has been through workshops, concerts, special projects, community choirs, festivals, annual conferences, skills development sessions and much more…
Recognition
SoundStorm is the lead partner of the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Music Education Hub, funded by the Department for Education through Arts Council England. To read more, visit the Music Education Hub section of our website.
We have 3 times been awarded the Major Trophy at the Music Education Council UK wide awards since 2012.
SoundStorm was a strategic partner of Youth Music through their extensive Musical Inclusion Programme which concluded in 2015. We countinue to work with Youth Music and are currently recipients of a Fund B major grant.
