Continuing our commitment to supporting non-specialist class teachers, Make Some Noise is here to help you. Led by Dorset resident, conductor, and recently appointed Producer for the Furthering Talent programme, Lee Marchant, this series of videos is all about the foundations of musical excellence. From pitch to rhythm, these simple exercises and musical games have musicianship at their centre and provide non-specialist colleagues with the opportunity to advance their skills and knowledge.

How to use plastic cups as a way of focussing on listening, working as a team, playing together as an ensemble and developing the discipline needed in making a controlled musical sound.

Relationship between words (syllables) and rhythm and how you can use words to remember rhythms.


7 – Scrub a dub

Using a process of making chips to create rhythmic layers and to start thinking as an ensemble and ‘playing’ together.
