 THE WORKSHOPS: SATURDAY 24 APRIL

SIGN UP BY 10 APRIL…. School age students only (18 and under)

  • Fire up the band!: 10am – 11.45am

Ever dreamt of hearing your musical or rap idea performed by a pro hip hop/jazz band? Email a simple musical or spoken word idea in advance to SoundStorm by 10 April 2021, with ‘Fire up the Band’ in the subject line, and we’ll pass them on to SOWETO KINCH and band. You’ll hear them transformed into a full band setting by The SOWETO KINCH 4 at the workshop. They’ll talk you through the process and give you a chance to explain your inspiration and thoughts. They’ll hopefully get to everyone’s piece but this isn’t guaranteed. 15 places available.

Find out about Soweto Kinch here: https://www.soweto-kinch.com/biography/

You must send in your musical / rap idea in advance to attend. We only want a short riff on an instrument, or you can record yourself singing, speaking or humming your idea. Alternatively, write it down as a musical score and send as a pdf. If it is a rap idea, you can also record as a MP3 or send in a word doc / pdf – no more than 4 lines.

Recordings should be submitted as MP3s (we cannot accept any other format), and be no larger than 10MB; written scores / words as a word document or pdf.

  • RAP AND WORDS TECHNIQUES: 12.30-1.30pm.

For all levels, beginners upwards – with Soweto Kinch: Hear the master at work, get tips on techniques, try out ideas, established rappers showcase ideas! 15 places available
