Music Education in England – Parliamentary debate

In June, SoundStorm was invited to attend the All Party Parliamentary Group on Music Education in the Palace of Westminster, which saw passionate advocacy for more support for music and the arts in schools – and criticism of the squeeze in recent years caused by testing, the Ebacc and OFSTED’s lack of engagement – from parliamentarians, music hub leaders and representative organisations such as ISM, Music Mark and the Federation of Creative Industries alike.

This was followed, on 17 July 2019, by a debate on music education in the Commons, of which you can read the transcript here. All interesting stuff.
