New National Plan for Music Education

In response to the recommendations set by the new National Plan for Music Education and our commitment to our Arts Council’s objectives of supporting our member schools, SoundStorm produced an extensive package of support, to help our primary phase schools develop a School Music Development Plan. Secondary phase subject specialists may also be interested – scroll down to the bottom of the page to find some useful links to key documents.

Less intensive than, but similar to, the School Music Education Plans which we provided a package of support on during 2020/2021, in the Summer term 2023, we ran two, virtual, twilight CPD sessions providing guidance to developing a School Music Development Plan. These sessions were recorded and uploaded below to watch back at your convenience. They were progressive – you will need to have attended or watched the first session before the second, to be able to follow the content in full.

Following on from this, we offered fully-funded, bespoke, 1-1 in person support, in school of up to ½ a day, during either Summer term 2023 or Autumn term 2024, which helped schools develop or review their School Music Development Plan.
