Curated in partnership with Poole Society for Young Musicians and Broadstone Music Series Aspiration through Inspiration, is a series of professional masterclasses led by a handpicked selection of distinguished, and often award-winning guest tutors.

We are thrilled to announce the return of the series in autumn 2021, offering students access to some of the country’s premier musicians. Each event is developed in collaboration with the guest musician(s), giving due consideration to the challenges of the last 18 months, but with a shared desire to restore ambition to the area and support the aspiration of our young instrumentalists. Last year we were honoured to be joined by Ruth Rogers, Joely Koos, Chris Avison and Catherine Martin. 

As part of the Hub’s new collaborative Creative Music Hub, the first session this season will take place at Bournemouth and Poole College on October 30th (North Rd Campus) with two distinct but connected masterclasses.

Led by renowned flautist Karen Jones (Professor of flute, Royal Academy), the Flute masterclass is open to all grades of students up to the age of 18. In addition, we are delighted to be welcoming Sophia Rahman, internationally recognised pianist and educator, who will lead a parallel Chamber Music masterclass with cellist Joely Koos (Principal with both the English Symphony Orchestra and the City of London Sinfonia).
